Durham man held in car chase, crash

RALEIGH -- A Durham man was being held in the Wake County jail Sunday, charged with leading authorities on a three-county chase that ended with a crash in Johnston County.

Roman Hernandez Gonzalez, 20, of 1226 Naples Place in Durham, was charged with assaulting a government official, speeding to elude arrest, driving without a license and several other traffic offenses in connection with the Saturday chase. He was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
