LILLINGTON -- A former Wake County assistant principal pleaded guilty this week to 15 sex charges.
Larry Ray Jewell pleaded guilty Monday to 15 felony counts of indecent liberties with a minor, Harnett County court officials said.
He will serve four to five years in prison, followed by probation and monitoring.
Jewell, a former assistant principle at Southeast Raleigh High School, was arrested at the school in February 2007 and resigned the same day.
He was later arrested by Raleigh police, after a family member of a Southeast High student contacted authorities, and charged with indecent liberties with a student by school personnel.
The Harnett County charges stem from allegations that Jewell abused a male relative. He faced 46 charges.
The cases in Wake County are pending, said Fran Kennedy, a legal assistant with the Wake County District Attorney's Office.
