Gastonia woman held in 2003 attack

DURHAM -- A Gastonia woman was arrested Friday in Durham in connection with a 2003 assault.

Wendy Malinda Patterson, 28, is accused of using an aluminum baseball bat to hit a man in the head, face and arms. She also faces old charges of resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license and running a red light.

Patterson remained at the Durham County jail Saturday in lieu of $501,680 bail.
