DURHAM -- Durham sheriff's deputies charged two men Friday with cocaine trafficking after the seizure of more than 2 pounds of cocaine.
Eduardo Aldo Pacheco, 39, of 310 Hemlock Drive, Durham, faces two counts of cocaine trafficking, one count of possessing cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, and one count of maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling narcotics. Court records indicate Pacheco was using a red Chevrolet truck to transport the drugs.
George Chavez, 40, of 60075 S. Churton St., Hillsborough, was also charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking, one count of possessing cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, and one count of identity theft, after he allegedly provided deputies with false identification.
Records indicate the pair had more than 400 grams of cocaine, which is the threshold for the felonies they were charged with. Officers estimated the weight of the drugs at 2.2 pounds.
Both men were in the Durham County jail Sunday in lieu of $5 million bail.
