WILSON -- Troopers with the N.C. State Highway Patrol are investigating a collision involving a passenger car and dump truck this afternoon in Wilson County that killed one person, a Johnston County dispatcher reported.

"The dump truck t-boned the passenger car," Patty McQuillan, a Highway Patrol spokeswoman said this afternoon.

The accident occurred at 3:36 p.m. at the intersection of N.C. 581 and U.S. 301, McQuillan said.

The Highway Patrol has not yet named the individual killed or what caused the crash.

State troopers are still at the scene investigating, McQuillan said.
