CARY -- A man wanted in a kidnapping last month is now in custody, according to court documents.
Joshua VanPatrick Haley, 24, was booked into the Wake County jail on Friday, charged with second-degree kidnapping and breaking and entering.
Warrants for his arrest were issued Oct. 29, a day after police say he broke into a home and kidnapped 19-year-old Kiara Jasper. She was later released unharmed.
The two had gotten into an argument the night before, police said.
Haley, of 1303 S. Bloodworth St. in Raleigh, has an extensive criminal history in Wake County, including convictions for breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, larceny, disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine with intent to sell and probation violation.
He was being held Friday in lieu of $30,000 on the kidnapping and burglary charges. Records show his bonds have been revoked on seven previous charges, and his total bail amount is $101,100.
