FOUR OAKS -- A Four Oaks man accused of going to Greensboro with plans to have sex with a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to a federal charge.
David Wayne Forsyth, 46, pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Wilmington to enticement of a child to engage in illegal sexual conduct, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
A volunteer for the nonprofit group Perverted Justice, which uses the Internet to identify child predators, detected Forsysth, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Members of the organization pose as children on Internet chat sites and coordinate with law enforcement to pursue suspected predators.
Forsyth was arrested Feb. 7, 2007, in Greensboro after about six weeks of online chats and solicitation, the prosecutor's office said.
