GREENSBORO -- Walkers and bikers along a proposed greenway encircling downtown Greensboro will get art with their exercise.
Organizers plan to begin work on the nearly five-mile paved loop early next year in Greensboro. Voters approved a $7 million bond issue this year to pay for the Downtown Greenway, which also has collected $5 million in private funding.
The first proposed piece of art for the greenway would be a 40-foot sculpture of multicolored stainless steel rods near the intersection of Lee Street and Freeman Mill Road.
