CHAPEL HILL -- Trustees at UNC-Chapel Hill unanimously approved a series of tuition and fee increases today.
Tuition for in-state, undergraduate students would increase 6.5 percent. And tuition for out-of-state undergraduates would increase 5.6 percent under the plan, which must still be approved by the UNC System Board of Governors.
Tuition for all graduate students would increase $400 as well.
Fees for all students would increase by 4.4 percent, or $74.67. Fees go towards activities, athletics and campus services.
Revenues raised by tuition increases would help fund student aid, faculty salary increases and a variety of academic support services.
