3.1-MILE RUN SET DEC. 13 IN PITTSBORO
The fourth annual Active Chatham Reindeer Run will be at 8 a.m. Dec. 13, at the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro. Racers will do a 3.1-mile course through Pittsboro.
Shalane Flanagan, a bronze medalist in the 2008 Olympic women's 10K, will sign autographs after the run. A 1-mile family run-walk will follow the awards ceremony.
Proceeds will go toward better facilities for physical activity in Chatham County.
Brochures and entry forms can be found at Chatham health department sites at 80 East St. and 109 Camp St. in Pittsboro, TeenWorks Teen Center in Siler City, Chatham County Parks and Recreation, Chatham YMCA, Ladies Fitness Center, Millennium Sports Club, Snap Fitness, and Dr. N. HOLIDAY MUSIC TO RAISE MONEY FOR ORCHESTRA
The Chapel Hill High School Philharmonic Foundation will hold its annual Benefit Tea and raffle to raise money for the orchestra. The benefit is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Extraordinary Ventures, 200 S. Elliott Road, Chapel Hill. Tickets: $8 for adults; $5 for students, available at the door.
