BENSON -- Deputies in Johnston County are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a trash bin at an Interstate 40 rest stop.
Investigators were called to the rest area off westbound I-40 just north of Benson around 6 p.m., said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Tammy Amaon.
No other information was immediately available, Amaon said.

The entrance and exit of the rest area were blocked by police cars and marked off with crime scene tape Tuesday night as authorities investigated.
