RALEIGH -- Britt Cobb Jr. will keep his job as secretary of the Department of Administration.
Cobb, 59, is a longtime state government employee and the only member of Gov. Mike Easley's Cabinet who will stay on to serve Gov.-elect Beverly Perdue.
Perdue credited Cobb's years of experience and his work on converting the state's vehicle fleet to alternative fuels. She also lauded his effort to expand outreach to businesses owned by women and minorities. The administration department, which acts as the business manager for state government, has 900 employees and a budget of $175 million.
