RALEIGH -- Police are hoping tips from the public will lead to the arrest of a man who broke into a business and a school in Southeast Raleigh last month.

The thief broke into the Rent-A-Center at 1100 N. Raleigh Blvd. about 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and stole a flat-screen television, police said.

About 2 1/2 hours later, he broke into Powell Elementary School at 1130 Marlborough Road and stole a trumpet in a case.

Surveillance cameras recorded images of a stocky black man with a bald or shaved head, wearing dark trousers and a light-colored hooded shirt. Other identifying details, such as height and age, could not be discerned from the photos.

Anyone with information that might assist the investigation is asked to contact police at 996-3555 or CrimeStoppers at 226-2746.
