RALEIGH — Police charged a 22-year-old man with careless and reckless driving this morning after the Toyota he was driving crashed into the wall of a West Raleigh apartment, authorities reported. No injuries were reported.

The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Conifer Drive near Gorman Street, according to a police accident report.

Police reported that Jamar Foley of 1725-B Gorman Street was driving a 1997 Toyota when he made a left turn off of Gorman Street onto Conifer Drive.

Police think Foley lost control of the vehicle before it ran over a curb and collided into the wall of a residence at the Parkwood Village apartments, according to the police report.

The vehicle went about a foot into the apartment, Jim Sughrue, a Raleigh police spokesman said today.

The Toyota caused $5,000 in damages and had to be towed from the scene, police reported.

In addition to the careless and reckless charges, police also charged Foley for not having an operator’s license, according to the accident report.
