Airline's first flight to RDU to land today

Midwest Airlines' first flight to Raleigh-Durham International Airport is scheduled to land at 11:55 a.m. this morning.

The Wisconsin-based carrier announced in March that it would begin three daily nonstop flights round trip between RDU and its hub in Milwaukee.

Midwest began operating at flights to between the airports in 1998 but halted in 2001 after the terrorist attacks.

Today's flight will come in at Terminal C and be celebrated by a water canon salute.
