A 20-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting on the 2500 block of S. Roxboro St. this afternoon.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Duke University Hospital with two gunshot wounds to his legs and one to his buttocks. He then ran to a nearby apartment for help. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.

The victim was standing in a parking lot next to the street when an occupant of a burgundy Nissan Altima fired several shots. The vehicle was last seen on Cornwallis Road towards University Drive.

Police were not able to obtain any suspect description or determine how many people were in the vehicle, Michael said. Investigators have no motive for the shooting.
