Raleigh police are seeking information following reports by two young girls that they were followed by adult men Friday in South Raleigh.

An 8-year-old girl said that a man started to follow her at about 8 a.m. as she walked near the corner of Lee and Holman streets, police said in a news release.

The girl said the man would speed up when she did, police said. She also reported that when she went inside a nearby community center, he waited nearby for several minutes before walking away.

At about 6 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking on the 500 block of Ileagnes Drive when a man started talking to her, police reported. The man asked her to approach him, then chased her briefly when she ran away.

It is not clear if the two incidents are related, police said, though they did occur on the same day a short distance from one another. No crime was committed in either case, police said.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department Detective Division at 919-890-3555.
