DURHAM -- About 1,500 gallons of sewage spilled at 700 Big Twig Lane on Tuesday morning, discharging into an unnamed tributary of Little Lick Creek.

City crews cleared the blockage, which was caused by grease, by about 12:30 p.m.

The area was cleaned and disinfected, officials said, and there were no immediate indications of major environmental hazards.

For information, contact Steve Miller, water and sewer maintenance superintendent with the city's Department of Water Management, at 560-4344.
