Couple accused of sex in cemetery

RALEIGH - A couple was arrested early Monday and charged with having sex in a cemetery.

Raleigh Police Department spokesman Jim Sughrue said officers responded to a complaint that a couple was having sex in City Cemetery, at Hargett Street and S. East Street, around 10 a.m. Monday. Around 10:30 a.m., officers spotted Deborah Stephens, 51, and Pernell Triston Kornegay, 37, both of Raleigh.

Stephens and Kornegay were each charged with one felony count of crimes against nature.

Monday night, they were being held in the Wake County jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
