An Angier man was killed in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident nine miles north of Durham on Sunday afternoon.
About 4 p.m., Roy Roderick Jackson, 44, of 300 Roy Adams Road lost control of his motorcycle and veered into a ditch.
According to the Highway Patrol, Roderick was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in a small rock quarry near the intersection of N.C. 1471 and N.C. 1795. He died on the scene, the patrol's report said.
Authorities attributed the accident to excessive speed.
