RALEIGH - A motorcycle accident took the life of a Durham man Saturday night.

Karl Edward Kost of 4402-C Emerald Forest Drive was riding a Harley-Davidson on Old Wake Forest Road when he veered to the right, hit a guard rail and crossed the center line.

He collided head-on with a 1983 Porsche heading in the opposite direction near the intersection of Litchford Road. Kost was thrown from his bike and died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Porsche, David Allan Bishop of 4505 Cobbler Place in Raleigh, was not hurt. No charges are expected in the case, police said.
