The Triangle's Bouncing Bulldogs, based in Chapel Hill, won eight out of 10 events during Sunday's Double Dutch Holiday Classic at New York's Apollo Theater.

Bulldogs squads took first place in singles and doubles events in nearly all age divisions -- grades 4-5, grade 6, grade 7 and grade 8/open. The exception was a second-place finish in the grade 8/open doubles event won by Stan's Pepper Steppers of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and the National Double Dutch League, according to a news release from team representative Charryse Fredrick.

In the Advanced Fusion Division, the Bulldogs -- Joseph Edney, Anna Holdaway, Ted Lehman, Timothy Martin and Briana Smith-Overman -- finished fourth.
