CHAPEL HILL -- A local student group and business group will present the third annual "Celebration of Earth and Sky" from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Carrboro Century Center.
Sponsored by the Chapel Hill High School S.U.R.G.E. (Students United for a Responsible Global Environment) chapter, the celebration provides an opportunity to learn about local environmental organizations, to view student projects related to Earth and environment, to hear special community presentations, and to network with other community members interested in "green" issues. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be available.
The event is co-sponsored by the Foundation for a Sustainable Community, and Foundation Executive Director Aaron Nelson will make a presentation at 3:30. A $2 donation is requested.
