Conservationists, government workers and others who help shape public policy will sponsor a community forum on Wake County water issues from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at N.C. State University's McKimmon Center at 1101 Gorman St. in Raleigh.

A panel of experts will discuss water-supply challenges created by rapid growth and cover topics including: where our water comes from; climate change and drought; how other communities are working to conserve water; and funding sources for water. The public is invited to comment and ask questions.

The forum is sponsored by Capital Group Sierra Club, the City of Raleigh, N.C. Conservation Network, Neuse River Foundation, Triangle Community Foundation, UNC Water Resources Research Institute, Wake Audubon, Wake League of Women Voters and WakeUP Wake County.

Registration is suggested but not required; call Claire Vaeth at 676-5449.
