CHAPEL HILL -- UNC-Chapel Hill will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the cleanup of a disposal site for waste chemicals near Horace Williams Airport.

UNC-CH used the 0.2-acre site between 1973 and 1979 to bury laboratory chemical waste. The university obtained authorization from the state government authority overseeing waste disposal at that time, and the site does not appear on the Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund national priority list, according to a news release.

The meeting will be held in Room 2202 of the Environment, Health and Safety Building at 1120 Estes Drive Extension. Parking is available adjacent to the building. Chapel Hill Transit service is available via the A, NS and T routes.
