A 43-year-old woman who was on foot was struck by a vehicle and killed in North Raleigh on Tuesday evening, police said.
The incident occurred in the area of Bland Road and Ollie Street, according to Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue.
Police did not identify the dead woman pending notification of her next of kin.
The woman was hit by a 2012 Honda driven by a 63-year-old woman, police said Wednesday, but other information was being withheld pending completion of a report on the incident.
The driver remained at the scene, Sughrue said, and a follow-up investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit was underway.
