Two wrecks on Tuesday morning on Interstate 40 in Raleigh and one on N.C. 55 near Cary interfered with commuter traffic.
Both I-40 crashes were on the westbound side of the highway. The first was the U.S. 1 interchange in southwest Raleigh, and the second was near Rock Quarry Road in the southern part of the city.
The wreck near U.S. 1 and the one on N.C. 55 resulted in injuries. The extent of injuries was not clear immediately.
The wreck on N.C. 55 was in the northbound lanes near the interchange with N.C. 540.
All the accidents happened a little before 7 a.m.
Firefighters closed parts of both highways for a time for emergency equipment to access the scenes.
