A Toyota Sequoia drove into a house in Creedmoor on Tuesday morning and came out the other side, stopping only when it hit a tree in the backyard.
There were four children in the house at the time of the crash. One child, who was downstairs at the time of the crash, was taken to Duke Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police, as was Robert Harris Jr. of Franklinton, the driver of the 2004 SUV.
Police say Harris was traveling on Westbourne Drive, off N.C. 56, when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into the front of the two-story house shortly after 10 a.m.
Building inspectors condemned the house because of the structural damage. Police say they are still investigating what caused the accident.
