A Durham woman died late Monday when her car went off U.S. 70 and rolled over shortly after she had sped away from a rear-end collision between her car and another, police said.
Angelica Michelle Holder, 27, was driving a Nissan Murano when she hit the back of another car on U.S. 70 at East End Avenue just after 11 p.m., police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
Witnesses told police that the Murano then sped away. A little later, Michael said, police found the Murano had run off the left side of the road and hit an embankment, flipping the car over and throwing Holder out of it.
She was not wearing a seat belt, police determined.
