The state Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Tuesday to present plans for changes along U.S. 70, including the replacement of two intersections with interchanges.
The plans include building bridges that would carry Swift Creek Road and Wilson’s Mills Road over U.S. 70, with ramps and service roads that would provide access from the highway. DOT says the changes are designed to improve safety and traffic flow without closing off access to U.S. 70.
The meeting will take place between 4 and 7 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria of Wilson’s Mills Elementary School, at 4654 Wilson’s Mills Road. There will be no formal presentation, but NCDOT representatives will be on hand with maps to explain the proposed changes and answer questions.
Written comments about the project can be submitted either at the meeting, by mail or email through Tuesday, Feb. 16. Send comments to project planning engineer Kim Gillespie at email@example.com or at 1548 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, 27699-1548.
