State troopers have filed six charges against a woman from Angier who was involved in an accident that injured four bicyclists on Massengill Pond Road last weekend.
Donnie Marie Williams, 50, was charged with reckless driving to endanger, improper passing in a curve and four counts of improper passing that resulted in serious bodily injury, State Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Jeff Gordon said Thursday.
Williams was driving north on the road Saturday when her car hit four bicyclists while she was trying to pass them, troopers said.
Christopher Graham, 34, Joel Arthur Lawrence, 57, Lynn Lashley, 57, and Michael Dayton, 60, were hurt.
Gordon said troopers filed the charges after discussions with the Johnston County District Attorney’s Office in the days after the accident.
Williams was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond and told to appear in court March 21.
