Wake County will give a hospice group $2 million to help build a new end-of-life care center in Cary.The nonprofit Hospice of Wake County already has state approval for a new 38,000-square-foot facility. The $8 million building will have eight beds for the seriously ill, six long-term beds and an area for grieving families.County commissioners unanimously approved the donation Tuesday. With the county money, the nonprofit is just $1.1 million short of its goal. Construction would begin in early 2007.
