APEX - Councilman Bryan Gossage on Monday announced his intention to run for re-election in the fall.

Gossage, elected in 2003, highlighted two of his first-term initiatives: "We were the first town in the Triangle to have a public wi-fi hot spot, and our 'Home Improvement Holiday' was very successful."

His priorities include "keeping on top of the substantial investment we've just made in our public safety efforts." Gossage added: "In the past couple of years we've hired 11 new police officers, 18 new firefighters, and approved over $7 million for construction of a new police station and new fire station, and I'd like to see those plans through."
