CARY -- A woman reported missing on Monday was found by her family in Morrisville on Wednesday.

Cary police had issued a Silver Alert for Bettie Fontaine Thompson, 59. Thompson turned on her cell phone and received messages from her family, which had been looking for her, said Lt. Steve Fonkey.

Thompson spent the two days in her car, Fonkey said, and she was not hurt. She was seeking medical attention at a hospital in Chapel Hill, he said.
