RALEIGH -
The Raleigh City Council passed a resolution Tuesday supporting the Wake County Public School System and its current system of electing school board members by district.
The vote came after Wake County commissioners and the town boards of Apex, Cary, Garner, Holly Springs and Rolesville all passed resolutions in support of at-large school board elections.
The eastern Wake town of Wendell passed a resolution in support of keeping the current district system. Resolutions in favor of at-large elections were defeated in Wake Forest and Morrisville.
