RALEIGH -- The fencing around construction sites of two downtown projects is getting "wraps."

The Raleigh City Council this week approved plans for a wrap on the fencing around the site of Charter Square, a two-tower project on the site of the old convention center on Fayetteville Street.

The wrap is scheduled to be installed before the Raleigh Wide Open 3 celebration Sept. 5 and 6. It will promote the project and provide a telephone number to obtain leasing information.

The first tower will be 20 stories, with about 300,000 square feet of offices, ground-floor shops and at least 30 condominiums. The second tower is scheduled to be 14 stories with at least 155 additional condos.

The city is selling the 1.75-acre development site.

The city also plans to wrap the fence around City Plaza when work starts in mid-September. The wrap will identify the project for visitors.
