International group holding 'Paris' event

The International Affairs Council will hold a fundraiser called "Flaner a Paris" or "A Stroll Through Paris" to raise money to fund the council's educational programs.

The fundraiser will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17, at the Historic Murphey School, 224 Polk St., Raleigh.

Tickets cost $60 per person, or $110 per couple, for council members and $65 a person or $120 for nonmembers.

The event will feature French wine and hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, and silent auction items from local sponsors. Black tie is optional.

RSVPs are due by Jan. 14 to RSVP@iacnc.org or 838-9191.

KIWANIS TO HOLD PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Capital City Kiwanis Club will hold a pancake-and-sausage fundraiser from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 3, at Christ Episcopal Church, at Wilmington and Edenton streets in downtown Raleigh.

The event will feature all the pancakes you can eat for a $7 donation. Kids ages 5 and under eat for free.

Proceeds will go to support Haven House, Youth for Christ Campus Life, Wake County Relief, Boys and Girls Home of Carolinas, and youth basketball and summer camp programs.
