The Triangle faced a chance of thunderstorms Thursday evening after some rain early in the day, and the weekend outlook was wet, too.
The National Weather service said showers and thunderstorms would likely come and be gone by midnight, and then skies should clear.
The forecasters said there was an “isolated chance” of a thunderstorm becoming severe.
Friday was expected to be bright with a high near 80, forecasters said, but clouds were likely to move back in Friday night and hang around Saturday, producing a 30 percent chance of rain.
They predicted an 80 percent chance of rain on Sunday and Sunday night, tapering of to a 60 percent chance early Monday.
