OH, BABY!

Animal babies come in many forms, from the cute fox kit to the interesting larvae of the Predacious Diving Beetle.

Kids ages 3 to 4 can learn all about these babies at a three-day camp at Blue Jay Point.

The camps are June 9 to 11 and are from 9 to 11 a.m. or from 1 to 3 p.m.

To check for space availability, contact the Blue Jay Center for Environmental Education at 919-870-4330. To register, you will need to include a completed registration form and $25 payment by mail or in person. The park is at 3200 Pleasant Union Church Road.

Work starts at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until 1 p.m.

Registration is required. Call the event sponsor, REI Raleigh, at 571-5031 to sign up.

HOW FAST CAN U IM?

Think you've got the fastest fingers around? Kids 12 and over can test their texting by entering the 1st Annual Zipit Speed IM Contest on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The prizes include an Ultimate Jonas Brothers experience with a limo ride and tickets to the upcoming concert, Zipit Wireless Messenger 2 devices and Best Buy gift cards. Each entrant has to have a parent present. To learn more, including a complete rundown of the rules, go to www.crabtree-valley-mall.com.
