The site of the old Atlanta Bread Company will make way for a new Bear Rock Cafe by the end of September. The newest site for the sandwich chain, whose restaurants are designed to evoke the rustic look of a cabin, is near the intersection of Six Forks and Sawmill roads. The restaurant will seat 130 diners inside and will have six tables outside.

This isn't the first time Bear Rock has swallowed some bread from Atlanta. In 2002, a franchise took over a location in Cary.

Coming this fall to the North Hills area is a bountiful bevy of new store openings.

Several of the new shops and restaurants will be opening on the retail floor of Alexan North Hills, the 297-unit apartment complex being built on Lassiter Mill Road.

* J. Alane's, a destination for lingerie, will open in the fall.

* Traditions of Chapel Hill, will drop the "of Chapel Hill," and plan to relocate its bridal business, slated to open the start of February.

In North Hills proper, Art Source will open its southern art gallery in November.

Liles Clothing Studio will have designer men's clothes in the fall at The Lassiter.
