Lipsticked looks are on the way. Ulta, an Illinois-based cosmetics firm, has leased a 9,160-square-foot space in Triangle Town Commons, set to open in late fall.

The chain runs combination beauty stores and salons that sell the company's cosmetic and haircare lines in addition to providing a salon space for hair styling and other chromosomes activities, like waxing.

Ulta operates about 160 stores in 20 states. In North Carolina, there's one in Cary and two in Charlotte.

Ulta will be located behind the mall, near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Interstate 540, next to Bed Bath & Beyond

Crabtree Valley Mall will be opening, shuffling and dealing out retail spaces like it broke out a new deck of cards.

* Hollister Co., a clothing store that has dispensed with his-and-hers and has opted for "dudes," and "bettys," will be bringing surfer duds far inland to the mall in late July. It'll be the third location for the Abercrombie & Fitch brand in the Triangle following a location at The Streets at Southpoint and one in Triangle Town Center.

* Nowell's Contemporary & Scandinavian Furniture, is opening up temporarily in the old Sam Goody space.

Swedish sofas and Danish den furniture will populate the extra location of the Cary-based store in early July.

Brands include Jesper, Ansager and the alleged king of the European mattress royalty, Tempur-Pedic. Check out the company's Web site at: www.nowellsfurniture.com.

* And what shopping mall would be complete without the teeny-bopper, ear-piercing destination, Claire's. More hot-pink and strawberry-scented swag will be ready for sale by the end of the month.

Crabtree Valley Mall is located at the intersection of Creedmoor Road and Glenwood Avenue.

A North Raleigh doggie dinner dealer will be expanding into uncharted territory south of the Beltline.

Just Dogs Gourmet, will open their second location on Glenwood Avenue, in Five Points.

Leashed pets can peruse the new location open now next to Kerry Catherine Jewelry.

Its Crabtree site will remain open.
