A former consignment shop will take on a new life with the same owner, as a bridge club and a Red Hat Society pro shop.

Nona's Place is now the Hatter's Exchange, specializing in the red and purple hues of the more than a 100 chapters of the Red Hat Society in the Triangle. The Red Hat Society is a national social organization for women 50 years and older.

Owner and Hatter Nona Manchester spent $15,000 redecoration her place, and is now looking for consignors.

Manchester's Red Hat chapter is mainly about bridge and is looking for people to play with her crew called the Savvy Sisters.

Hatter's Exchange is located on 6104 Creedmoor Road near the intersection with Lynn Road. Call 788-1402 for information on consignment or if you're a woman 50 years or older looking to play bridge.

Some updates are due on the North Hills shopping center.

Scout & Molly's did not open last Friday as had been reported. At the last minute, the owners decided to wait a bit before moving into their space at The Alexan North Hills.

The ladies boutique with locations in Chapel Hill and in North Raleigh at the Shops of Falls Village will remain open until the new store is ready.

Owner Lisa Disbrow hopes that will be sometime next week. For details, visit www.scoutandmollys.com.

Restaurant Savannah, the all Southern-American restaurant, plans to be open by the middle of the month. It will be Five Star owner Chris Bender's new foray into the Raleigh restaurant business. It will be in North Hills proper.
