Two furniture stores are opening in the Brier Creek area of North Raleigh. Thomasville Furniture cut the ribbon Monday on a 17,000-square-foot, facility across the street from Brier Creek Commons.In the same building will also be a Drexel Heritage, which will open Monday.Both brands are run by Conover, N.C.-based Hendricks Furniture Group. The stores were originally slated to be completed this past summer.The Thomasville store will hold its official grand opening on Saturday. It will feature 20 percent off dining rooms and an 18-month no-payment financing.Drexel will feature 20 percent off all accessories on Monday.* * *It's a heck of a product demo -- and it's going to be on 18 wheels from Germany.Sew Unique, a two-year-old fabric and sewing store in the Harvest Oaks Shopping Center at Six Forks and Strickland roads, is bringing in the Pfaff Creative Experience.It's a tractor-trailer loaded with German made Pfaff sewing machines to demonstrate the latest in needle work.The semi is a rolling exhibition hall of the latest in computer-controlled sewing apparatus. It will be taking visitors near Sew Unique from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday.For more information, visit www.sewuniquefabrics.com.* * *Hackerz, an Xbox-only video game center, is slated to open in the next two weeks in The Factory, on Main Street in Wake Forest.The store will rent out time for individuals and groups to play Xbox games on big screens. They plan to have at least two of the new Xbox 360 systems, scheduled to hit store shelves on Nov. 22.
