Out of business - again?

Every sale that Larry Resnick made in the past year could have been his last.

The proprietor of the Glenwood Avenue location of the High Point Furniture Liquidation Center has been selling overstocked furniture in the 45,000- square-foot building since May 2005.

High Point, a Newton Grove-based company, bought the remainder of the inventory from GFB Furniture Liquidation Warehouse.

But now, plans to build a pharmacy on the site have the store's days numbers.

Resnick took over the store and the inventory, with the caveat that he would have to vacate the building in 30 days.

"It's gonna be coming," he said.

Plans approved by the Planning Commission last week will have the building razed and a drug store and another retail building on the 4.35-acre lot.

According to Wake County property records, the site was sold to Colonial III Whiteville LLC. The principal agent, Jerry T. Norvell, Jr., is also listed as the agent for three CVS pharmacies in Bessemer City, Mooresville and Statesville.

Since he's been at his location, Resnick has fielded complaints about his store being an eyesore, but he'll be sad to leave. He's sold all of the GFB inventory and moved some of his own there to sell. For him the site was great, and he'll be sad to leave.

"I'm here until they tell me to leave," Resnick said.

This party is a gas, and that gas is air. Last week in Wake Forest marked the opening of Pump it Up: The Inflatable Party Zone.

The kid- and parent-friendly business has opened its second Triangle location off of S. Main Street, on Capcom Avenue.

Pump it Up will feature party rooms and group rates for access to rooms full of bouncy excitement.

Just make sure to wear clean socks.
