Think you have a cool summer experience that's worth sharing?

The Wake County Public School System is looking for an interesting summer experience for the school system's next School Connection newsletter.

The school system is looking for stories about your child's summer camp experience, fun trips or any other learning activity.

For more information or to send your story e-mail Bill Poston at bposton@wcpss.net.

Students are not the only ones who need school supplies. Count teachers, too.

Staples on Millbrook Road is holding a Teacher Appreciation Day on July 30 from 8 to 9 a.m. The event will be held at all area Staples. Activities will be held at different stores.

Prizes will be raffled. Tote bags filled with treats and supplies will be given to the first 200 teachers.

Teachers must bring a valid school identification to enter the store and to be eligible for any prizes. For more information, call 876-7264.

To my faithful readers:

You have probably noticed in this week's section that I have added my married name to my byline.

You haven't missed any news. I was actually married last year and am now adding my married name.

I can still be reached at the same e-mail address and phone number below.
