RECORDS: Duke 1-8, 0-6 ACC; Clemson 4-4, 2-4

SERIES HISTORY: Clemson leads 32-16-1

LAST MEETING: Duke won 16-13 last season on a 53-yard Matt Brooks field goal on the final play of the game.

WHAT TO WATCH: Clemson quarterback Charlie Whitehurst (shoulder) is not expected to play, which leaves junior Will Proctor at quarterback. Proctor has filled in capably in limited duty this season, notably in the season-opening win over Texas A&M. The Tigers also are missing exceptional freshman runner James Davis, who broke his wrist against N.C. State on Oct. 13 and has played only one snap since. Reggie Merriweather, the team's leading rusher with 555 yards, should have a busy day.

Duke will try to recover from the wipeout against Wake Forest. Freshman Zack Asack is listed as the starting quarterback on the team's depth chart, but he split time last week with Mike Schneider and Marcus Jones.

KEY STAT: 25 years -- Duke hasn't won in Clemson since 1980, a 34-17 decision.
