Come out for an evening of music, food and fun. Entertainment will be provided by The Flabbergasters.

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. All proceeds will be used to help with producing the school's newsletter and other items.

In conjunction with the party, students will participate in a "Rockin' Round the Clock" event to raise money for the PTSA. Students will take pledges for rocking in rocking chairs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Pleasant Union Elementary School, 1900 Pleasant Union Church Road, will hold two open houses this week.

An open house for parents of kindergartners through second-graders will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. An open house for third- through fifth-grade parents will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.

* The College Foundation of North Carolina is holding a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Herb Young Community Center, 101 Wilkinson Ave. in Cary. The workshop will include information on scholarships, grants and loans.

* A college and post-secondary fair will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the McKimmon Center on the campus of North Carolina State University.

Representatives from universities and community colleges will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid, admission requirements and more.
