Students at Lead Mine Elementary School have one big challenge ahead of them. Today kicks off the Million Minute Reading Challenge. In just six months, students at the school have vowed to read for one million minutes.

To help keep the kids motivated, they'll have character dress-up days and guest speakers. The challenge comes on the heels of National Book Month, which was celebrated in October.

Right Track Academy is forming a support group for parents facing a change to year-round schools.

The group, Year-Round Table, is planning its first meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday

Year-Round Table will provide parents, students and school leaders the opportunity to share information about year-round schools and track-out programs.

Right Track Academy, at 8340 Bandford Way, opened in 2005 and provides performing arts camps for year-round, traditional and home-schooled students.

A big congratulations to the Trinity Academy boys soccer team for winning the state championship Sunday.

The team defeated Wayne Country Day School 2-1.

The championship is the first for any sports team at Trinity.

"I am very proud of our guys and the character and composure they showed throughout the tournament," coach Steve Woodard said in a news release.
