Kids, think you're too young to get involved in politics? Think again.

Kids Voting NC Wake County and the N.C. Museum of History are holding a candidates forum -- Voting Counts: My Voice, My Choice -- at 10 a.m. Sept. 13 at the N.C. Museum of History at 5 East Edenton St. in downtown Raleigh.

The event's purpose is to educate Wake County students about the issues each candidate will address should he or she win the election.

Candidates attending the forum are those running for governor, Senate and House of Representatives.

Students will get the chance to see sample practice ballots and presentations on right to vote amendments.

Students can also participate in a variety of activities such as making election buttons and patriotic signs, flags and hats.

Go to www.kidsvotingwake.org to download a registration form. Only 400 people can attend the event. Registration ends Sept. 8.

Also on the Web site, students can brush up on the 2008 presidential election, including information about where candidates stand on issues and other interesting facts regarding the top job.

Volunteers are needed for the event. If you're interested in helping, call 341-2398.
