Teams excel in Odyssey

Great job and good luck to the Odyssey of the Mind teams from Brassfield Road Elementary School.

The teams competed March 8 at the Eastern Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament in Chapel Hill. The Wonderful Muses and Dyno Stories teams each finished in sixth place.

The Geocentrics Team won their division and will compete on Saturday at East Carolina University.

Team members are: Brennan Colucci, Kevin Donnelly, Benjamin Fisk, Meagan Johnson, Alistair Matthews, Anna-Elizabeth Rinderer and Kurt Wedegaertner.

Raleigh Latin School, 1120 Sawmill Road, is hosting an Open House at 1 p.m. April 13.

The event is open to all who parents who are interested in learning more about the school.

School leaders are also encouraging parents who were not accepted to charter or magnet programs to attend.

A small, private school for sixth through 12th grade students, Raleigh Latin's curriculum focuses on classical education based on Latin, grammar, rhetoric and logic. Special emphasis is placed on science and math.

The Sanderson Baseball Booster Club is hosting a Spartan Spirit Night at 7 p.m. April 18. The game is against Wakefield High School.

With each admission ticket, students receive a snack and are entered into a raffle for cool prizes.
